1. Core Privacy Philosophy
NetTestLab is engineered as an open, client-driven utility. You are never required to register an account, log in, or provide personal identifying details (such as names, emails, or phone numbers) to execute diagnostic tests.
2. Application-Level Data Handling
Here is exactly how our application code operates:
- No Diagnostic Database: Our application does not persist your speed test results, latency figures, or geographic approximations in an application database.
- In-Memory Processing: Diagnostic payloads sent to our upload endpoint and received from our download endpoint are processed directly in server RAM and immediately discarded.
- No Tracking Cookies: We do not set third-party cross-site advertising cookies or behavioral tracking identifiers.
3. Infrastructure & Hosting Provider Logs
To maintain absolute transparency, we distinguish our application layer from standard hosting infrastructure:
Like virtually all web servers connected to the internet, the cloud infrastructure, Content Delivery Networks (CDNs), and edge proxies that host our web application may automatically record standard web server access logs (including client IP addresses, user agent strings, and request timestamps) for security monitoring, DDoS mitigation, and network routing compliance. These infrastructure logs are governed by the hosting provider's standard data retention policies.
4. Browser-Provided Information
When available, our tool inspects standard browser APIs (such as navigator.connection) locally on your device to display advisory interface hints (e.g. effective network type like 4G/Wi-Fi). This data is processed exclusively client-side in your browser and is never transmitted to an external analytics server.
